What I Wore | White On White

Oops, it's been a few weeks since I last posted and if I'm honest, I started to have cold-feet about this blogging thing. I realised I seem to wear the same 3 outfits on rotation and had nothing to post about. But, a little shopping has solved the problem, as always (hahah)!

My family and I went to Brighton for a few days. It was gorgeous weather (although it sadly only lasted for the first day) so we explored the pier and beach. I wore this AA style tennis skirt (blog post to follow!) which I'm loving. I promise I didn't wear it as high up as it is in photo #2, not sure what's going on there! I teamed it with this lace Primark top which I forgot I owned (a very happy discovery from the bottom of my wardrobe) and white laser-cut style sandals.

Admittedly, my daily attire is black on black on black on black so wearing all-white was a pretty big change for me! I must say though, white is a massive pain - by the end of the day I had accumulated an array of make-up/ chocolate/ dinner stains (what a messy-pup).

Hope you've all had a lovely weekend!

Sheer top - Primark - £6
Bandeau top - H&M - £3.99
Skirt - Post to follow!
Shoes - Primark - £4
Bag - Primark - £8

What I Wore | Floral Skirt & Children's Shoes

How do bloggers manage bad weather?! It's poured down with rain here for the past few days and I couldn't quite work out what I was meant to do... Dark, grainy indoor pictures? Stand in the rain and let my hair go frizzy? Pfft, I don't think so. There was a little gap of sunshine today (hurraaay!) so I dragged my sister outside in her pyjamas and forced her to photograph for me (that's what little sisters are for, right?)

This outfit is super simple but I like it anyway. I had my doubts about these little red Primark shoes for months but I found them  hibernating in the bottom of my wardrobe, brand-shining-new complete with tags and realised how adorable they are! Needless to say, wearing them out for the first time wasn't the greatest idea (my feet haven't recovered from the blisters, hence the socks in my last post). Still, it was worth it - they make me feel 5 years old again (definitely a good thing!).

With the shoes throwing me back to my childhood, I teamed this outfit with my little pink satchel (yet again - note to self: must stop including this in every post), fox ring and a floral scrunchie. I wore this H&M pleated skirt which I'm loving at the moment and this Topshop ribbed crop top.

Skirt - H&M - £12.99
Top - Topshop - £8
Bag - Primark - £6
Shoes - Primark - £8
Scrunchie - StitchByLouB - £1.50
Ring - Pastel Clouds - £3.69

Outfit total: Approximately £40 (Not bad, hey?)

What I Wore | Zara Florals

My new camera lens arrived so I couldn't resist going out and taking some blog photos! Here, I'm wearing this super cute  Zara Trafaluc dress which is the most comfortable thing EVER and was only around £25 which considering Zara prices seems very reasonable! This is a swing dress (at least I think that's what they're called...) but I prefer to team it with a belt - the way it falls without the belt is beautiful but I just don't think it suits my lack of curves. The only downside is that I noticed from the pictures this makes the dress super short... Oh Lauren, you are so indecent.

This belt happens to be the only belt I own but is the greatest belt there ever was. One side is black and one side is brown so it can be reversed - I'm easily pleased! The gold buckle matched perfectly with the gold accents on this little Primark bag and I also teamed it with some gold-toned jewellery.

On my feet, I wore these black shoes and some little white Topshop socks. I'm not 100% sure how I feel about the whole socks with sandals thing (although I guess these aren't really sandals) but if I'm completely honest, I wore them because I have the worst blisters from wearing new shoes yesterday - hahah! I also love these socks because they remind me of what I used to wear for school, aged 7. Oh to be a child again...

Dress - Zara - Around £25
Bag - Primark - £6 (bargain!)
Shoes - New Look - £19.99 (?)
Socks - Topshop - £3.50
Belt - Next - £?
Ring - Pastel Clouds - £3.69
Watch - Pastel Clouds - £7.99

Girl on a Budget | Entire Outfit For £10!

I must admit, I am a MASSIVE sucker for a good bargain (but then again who isn't?!). I picked up this gorgeous silky top for just £4 in Primark (a.ka. my one true love) . It's the perfect basic, is super, super comfortable and I simply adore the pastel blue colour. I teamed this with these white envelope skorts which cost me a teeny tiny £2.05 - this is why I love eBay! These are slightly see through (not quite the most appropriate for funky patterned knickers!) but fit perfectly and for this price I'm definitely not complaining! On my feet, I wore these Primark sandals which sadly have fallen apart after just a few weeks but it's fair to say they were very well used and loved. For accessories, I wore this Pastel Clouds 'MAKE A WISH' bangle which admittedly would look better if it wasn't for my ridiculously tiny wrists!

(Awkard angle + garden furniture insisting on making an entrance.. erm)

(Caught mid-boogie?)

Top - Primark - £4
Skorts - eBay - £2.05
Shoes - Primark £4
Bangle - Pastel Clouds Jewellery - £0**

TOTAL - £10.05
(A round of applause for Lauren the Great Bargain Hunter, please?)

** Okay, when I say the bangle was £0, I'm not strictly telling the truth. I am the owner of Pastel Clouds Jewellery (hence the little link at the top of the page) which means unlimited free jewellery for me (hahah). To purchase, this bangle is £4.99.

What I Wore | Monochrome and Pink

This has been my go-to outfit recently, particularly for those days when I hate hate hate every other item of clothing in my wardrobe. I recently picked up this lace skirt in Topshop, after trying to make my mind up for 2948267 minutes about whether to get it - what a good decision that was! I love the pattern, shape, everything about it, the only con is that the open panel causes a slight problem when sitting down, ahem, cue "Lauren your knickers are showing" comments!

I can't resist monochrome clothing but I was determined to add a bit of colour, particularly with the beautiful pastel trend that SS14 seemed to have brought along. This Primark bag seemed the perfect accessory, despite the fact it cost me a whopping £6  *gasp*(I hope you sense the sarcasm). I'm so in love with this bag - an appreciation post dedicated to this is likely to be coming your way very soon!

I also picked up some super cute rings in the Topshop sale. I definitely don't need anymore rings but I'm such a sucker for them and at £3.50 for the set, how could I possibly say no?!

The prettiest lace detailing!

It's not a pose, I actually was looking at something (I promise)

It was a bright lipstick & bardot top kind of day

Couldn't resist this bargain satchel!
Topshop sale wins again

Top - River Island - £18
Skirt - Topshop - £
Bag - Primark - £6
Shoes - New Look - £19.99 (?)
Rings - Topshop (sale) - £3.50

An Awkward Hello

If you're reading this, you've discovered my lovely, spanking-new fashion blog - hello! Introductions are a bit awkward, where do I begin?

My name is Lauren and I'm a 16 year old  girl living in the UK. I love fashion and I love writing (most of the time - it's a love hate relationship) and blogging has always been top of my to-do-when-I-have-some-time list. I can't pretend this is my first attempt at blogging - The Fashion Ramblings shamefully is blog #3 after my last couple of attempts were *ahem* a bit of a failure (ie. I never had the time to blog/I forgot about their existence). Third time lucky, eh?

Here's me in Chinatown, aka greatest place ever

I guess what I hope for this blog is that it becomes a way for me to document my life, almost like an online journal I can look back on when I'm old and wrinkly (or perhaps just an excuse for me to spend even longer hunched over a computer). I'd love it if you'd follow me on Bloglovin'/join my blog.
